God has been teaching me (through a missionary's testimony) to relinquish my day to Him, at the start of the day. Relinquish my time, health, plans....to Him for his glory. Whatever He wants to allow in - to be thankful - in your case, even the unexpected (lost luggage) detours, hindered plans, time spent in travel, surprises...
I like what you said Gary... that you need to look for God to see what He is trying to teach you in these opportunities! Awesome.
We will be praying that you will "see" Him in your day, be used of Him, and learn what it is He is teaching.
This verse just came to my mind. Do you want to know what God's plan is for your day?
1 Thes 5 BE JOYFUL ALWAYS PRAY CONTINUALLY GIVE THANKS IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.
