The emblem in this first photo should look familair to all of you. It is a silent reminder of home.
This photo shows only a small amount of the graves, but I liked it because of the flags flying above the graves.
There were many others who died this day that were brought home to the U.S. and burried.
There were also about 1500 names on a wall outside of the cemetary of men who were never found.
In all 27,000 Americans gave their lives to stop Hitler on DDay alone. Being at this cemetary was sobering. I think every american should have an opportunity to see this place.

We also went to the cemetary-- it was a dreary day with hardly anyone around. Bob and Austin were over in the midst of the crosses looking at the names. I was walking down a walkway alone and over a loud speakers chimes began to play "God Bless America". That was a highlight of my trip- I felt so blessed to be an American.
